Zenkaikon 2012 Updates!

First off, our new dates are May 11-12, 2012 at the Philly Expo Center in Oaks, PA! WWW.ZENKAIKON.COM

Zenkaikon 2009 Updates!

Hello everyone!

It has been a while since the last update, so I wanted to give you a brief rundown of what has been going on for Zenkaikon 2009...

First, in case you missed it, Zenkaikon 2009 will be taking place on November 7th and 8th at the Radisson Hotel valley Forge.

We've announced a number of guests, including Johnny Yong Bosch, Robert Axelrod, Trina Nishimura, Eyeshine, [geist], Eden Star, Geek Comedy Tour 3000, Uncle Yo, C.J. Henderson, Concept Galaxy, Ikuzo! Studios, the Robotech Convention Tour, Friday Knights, and Geeks Next Door. (Guest List)

Concept Galaxy will be running an exciting, interactive cosplay event that will be taking place throughout Zenkaikon 2009. Auditions were recently hold for cosplayers who wanted to participate in the production. If you missed the auditions, there may still be time to submit a YouTube audition. Contact steph@conceptgalaxy.com for more information.

Panel submission, AMV submission, Cosplay Masquerade applications, Hall Cosplay applications, and Cosplay Dating Game applications are currently open.

Pre-registration is currently open. Pre-register before October 6, 2009 to get discounted registration, and be entered for a chance to win lunch with our guest Johnny Yong Bosch.

Gopher registration is also still open, if you would like to volunteer to help Zenkaikon. Volunteers may be entitled to partial or full convention refund, meals, and/or other perks.

If you would like to help promote Zenkaikon, apply to be on our Street Team. Street team members get their name and link on our website, as well as a Zenkaikon Street Team button.

We've added some pages to our website, including a new FAQ page.

Zenkaikon First Preregistration Deadline Reminder!

Our biggest news now is the annoucements of new guests to Zenkaikon 2009 and also our preregistration deadline coming up.

New guests recently announced include Johnny Yong Bosch and Eyeshine, Fighters's High and more!

Just a reminder to everyone that the first pre-registration deadline for Zenkaikon 2009 is only a few days away! Pre-register by June 6, 2009 to take advantage of our lowest registration rates, and save time in line at the convention.

Current registration rates are:
Saturday Only: $15
Sunday Only: $15
Two-Day Pass: $28
VIP Pass: $48

VIP Registration includes an exclusive Zenkaikon 2009 T-shirt, which will not be available in our merchandise store or sold at the convention. VIP memberships are only available to those who
pre-register for Zenkaikon 2009.

Zenkaikon is currently recruiting interested individuals to join its 2009 Street Team and/or be a gopher at its convention. Read all the details below!


Street Team

Do you love Zenkaikon? Do you look forward to it every year? Do you wish more people knew about it?

Then you should consider joining the Zenkaikon 2009 Street Team! Street team members give out or leave Zenkaikon flyers at related events, stores, or any other location where anime fans may gather. They may also promote Zenkaikon on their website, blog, or favorite forum.

If this sounds like something you would like to do (or do already), then send us the following information:

Mailing Address where we can send flyers
Where and When you will promote Zenkaikon
Specific Conventions or Events where you can put out flyers, and the dates of the events

Gofers help con staff with event set up, line control, badge checking, guiding attendees, running video and gaming equipment, workshops, panels, the masquerade, break down and clean up.

Zenkaikon 2009 Needs Staff!

Zenkaikon is looking for enthusiastic, hard-working and dedicated
staff to add to its team. Zenkaikon is a two-day anime and science
fiction convention located in King of Prussia, PA (Philadelphia area).
Our fourth annual convention is taking place on November 7-8, 2009,
and we would love to have you!

Staff Members Must:
* Check their e-mail at least 3 times a week, and reply to all
inquiries within 3 days of receipt.
* Actively participate on the staff forums.
* Be prompt, clear, and respectful in communicating with other staff
and attendees, both online and in person.
* Work with their department chairs and other department members as a
team, while having the flexibility to work independently.
* Quickly resolve departmental problems, seeking help from other
staffers when necessary.
* Be willing to receive constructive criticism and incorporate approved changes.
* Regularly attend staff meetings - online, on the phone, or in person.
* Work at the convention (unless they cannot attend due to unforeseen
* Have reliable transportation.
* Be available by phone in case of emergencies.
* Provide at least 2 references.
* Be at least 18 years of age.

Zenkaikon to Provide Anime Content at VGXPO 2008

VALLEY FORGE, PA - Zenkaikon 2008 is pleased to announce a strategic collaboration with America's Video Games Expo 2008 in which Anime content will be provided at the hugely popular VGXPO event in Philadelphia.

About Zenkaikon Anime Programming at Video Games Expo 2008:

The staff of Zenkaikon and VGXPO, having mutual respect of each others events, recognized that providing anime and Asian related content at VGXPO would mutually benefit both groups. With this in mind, a strategic collaboration was formed to bring anime content to the hugely popular Video Games Expo event in Philadelphia.

Zenkaikon will be providing anime and live action screenings, anime and gaming related panels, special gaming tournaments, a Samba de Amigo Dance Party, an anime art alley and marketplace, anime/Asian karaoke and more! Additionally, they will be working with VGXPO to bring more anime/Asian style programming to the main events hall of Video Games Expo.

About Zenkaikon:

Zenkaikon was formed by the merger of the anime and sci-fi con Zentrancon, and the anime con, Kosaikon, both in the Philadelphia area. In 2006 they put on their first event which was a tremendous success, and by 2007, gathered over 550 attendees who celebrated their love of anime, sci-fi and Asian culture. Zenkaikon will return to the Valley Forge Scanticon Conference Center for its third installment on 10/17-10/18/08. The con will kick off its expansion to two days of programming on the evening of Friday, October 17 with concerts, a Cosplay Ball, gaming and other special events. A full day of convention action will follow on Saturday, October 18 with video screenings, concerts, gaming, cosplay masquerade, the new Zenkaikon favorites - the anime version of "Whose Line Is It Anyway" and The Cosplay Dating Game, and so much more!
